The Tooling Specialist's responsibilities include using existing skills in fabrication, machining and welding to build fixtures, gauges, and other specialty products in support of the plant's production requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties, and mathematics.Fabricate fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.Utilize various instruments including micrometers, squares, and vernier calipers.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines.Select the appropriate tools, materials, and machines to be used in preparation of machinery work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Set up and operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, & cutting equipmentAbility to program computers and electronic instruments (such as numerically controlled machine tools).Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances.In-depth knowledge of machine tools.Ability to confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.Team oriented; work hard-play hard mindset.Regular attendance is essential.
