**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** TIG welding of stainless steel exhaust systems ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" thick. The role supports the automotive (Ford, Toyota) and heavy-duty industries (Caterpillar). Responsibilities include low production welding of exhaust systems and repair welding from robotic welds that aren't perfect after coming off the machine. This position primarily involves manual welding functions performed independently. When manual welding demand is lower, you will run a robotic weld machine or Continuous Resistance Welders and may also be trained to troubleshoot robotic weld machines and train operators. **Hard Skills** + TIG welding + Manual welding + Robotic weld machine operation + Continuous Resistance Welding + PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) **Soft Skills** + Attention to detail + Ability to work independently + Adaptability + Problem-solving skills + Teamwork **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Troy, Michigan. **Work Environment** Job Site: 1201 Building. The work environment is a fast-paced, clean manufacturing setting with some areas louder than others. Consistent loud noises from the machines should be expected. The dress code requires compliance with all PPE and safety requirements, including wearing steel-toe shoes at all times. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided. Work shifts include 1st Shift (Monday - Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm, occasional Friday 6am to 2:30pm) and 2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday, 4pm to 2:30am, occasional Friday). **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
