**Job Title: Welder**
**Schedule: M-F (** **6:00am - 2:00pm + overtime)**
**Job Description**
+ The welder and fabricator will be responsible for fabricating, laying out, assembling, and welding according to shop drawings and specifications.
+ The role involves miscellaneous metals layout, fitting, and welding, with a specific emphasis on MIG welding.
+ Welders will be required to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and must have a thorough knowledge of the tools and equipment utilized, including ironworkers, saws, plasma tables, and hand tools.
+ The position will involve working at heights, on a scissor lift, and in tight spaces.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate, layout, assemble, and weld according to shop drawings and specifications
+ Perform miscellaneous metals layout, fitting, and welding
+ Utilize MIG welding techniques
+ Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
+ Operate and maintain tools and equipment including ironworkers, saws, plasma tables, and hand tools
+ Work at heights, on scissor lifts, and in tight spaces
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with MIG welding, preferably Pulse MIG, on structural steel or miscellaneous metals
+ Experience in thin gauge metal fabrication and welding
+ Strong blueprint skills, capable of taking a print and fabricating, laying out, fitting, and welding with little to no guidance
+ Proficiency in stick welding, particularly in vertical positions
+ Knowledge of TIG welding is preferred
+ Direct experience with miscellaneous metals is highly preferred
**Work Environment**
Work in a small shop with about a dozen employees, typical of a weld/fabrication shop. The environment is loud and can be dirty from grinding and welding metal, with weld stations and machinery running at all times. Safety is a priority, with guards on machines and all required welding gear provided. Employees may occasionally travel to job sites, typically within a two-hour commute, and are paid for travel time at a straight-time wage.
