As the ASME Code Welder Sec VIII, you will perform MIG (flux-core, hard wire) and TIG welding to fabricate and weld pipe observing ASME code specifications. You will weld carbon steel and some stainless steel (304/316) materials, under the guidance of the Production Supervisor. Within your first 30 days, you will be required to pass a code test.

You Will:

Operate safety equipment and follow safe work habits.

Use MIG welding on positioners to weld valves and assemblies.

Weld components in vertical up positions, including root and cap welding.

Prepare and examine materials to ensure they meet specifications.

Follow blueprints and specifications to layout, align, and secure parts for welding.

Monitor welding processes to avoid defects, overheating, or warping.

Perform welding tasks including grinding, clamping, tack-welding, and adjusting gas flow.

Maintain welding equipment and ensure surfaces are prepared for welding.

Conduct post-weld inspections to ensure conformance to standards.

Support the welding team by following work orders and collaborating on process improvements.

You Have:

High school diploma or GED; or 3+ years of welding experience, including leadership roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong understanding of ASME code sec VIII welding and fabrication to print specifications.

Ability to weld pipe vertical up, root, and cap, and use positioners for welding.

Familiarity with welding carbon steel and stainless steel (304/316) materials.

Working knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Experience with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.

Ability to meet daily attendance requirements and legally accept employment in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
