We are looking for a Welder to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.  This role will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and based in Newark, DE.  This is a fully on-site role.

Role and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret Work Instruction’s to determine specific welding requirementsWeld horizontal, vertical, and overhead positionsPosition and clamps parts together in fixturesAccurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to weldingOperate welding equipment according to operating manualComplete required paperwork in a correct and timely mannerOperate hoist and power lift standLoad and unload jigsPerform leak testing checks on finished welding productsFollow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written to produce a quality productFabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generatorMaintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeepNotify management of shop consumables (i.e. cutting oils, welding gasses, tooling and bits, etc.) in order to maintain inventoriesCreate assembly and fabrication fixturesAddress and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assembliesPerform basic job functions as directed safely and efficientlyCould be required to travel to other Bloom facilities within the Delaware locationsPerform other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience: 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.1 year required experience in TIG Welding, both DC and AC (GTAW), pulsed TIG Welding (GTAW-P), stick welding (SMAW) and Oxy-Acetylene Torch experience1 year required working experience2-3 years working experience preferred where hands on manufacturing practices were requiredRequired experience in following required work instructionsPreferred TIG experience with INCONEL/ Stainless steelPreferred experience interpreting welding printsPreferred valid certificate in Welding from an accredited institutionMust have mechanical skills and able to use basic shop tools and equipment

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Could be required to wear a respirator and pass a Fit test.

Interviewing Requirements:

As part of the interview process, all candidates will be tested on their level of skill in one or more variation of MIG, TIG, Stick tests, and must follow best safety practices and procedures in the course of the testing. Bloom Energy will require candidates to provide written verification of welding credentials prior to testing. In the event you have misrepresented your credentials, you will be personally liable for any personal or property damage incurred during your testing.
