Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Barge Welder experienced in Stick welding and MIG welding. The job involves repairing barges that come up and down the river, checking them in, and fixing them onsite. The machine shop provides precise materials needed for the repairs.
ResponsibilitiesPerform Stick and MIG welding on barges.Conduct grinding tasks as required.Read and interpret blueprints and welding prints.Fabricate and fit structures as needed.Utilize grinding and torch techniques effectively.Work with the machine shop to obtain necessary materials for repairs.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG welding.Experience with Stick welding.Ability to read blueprints and welding prints.Skilled in fabrication and fitting.Experience with grinding and torch techniques.Additional Skills & QualificationsShipyard experience preferred.Relevant welding certificates.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The job takes place on barges where you must be comfortable working in various weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, and heat. The shift is from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 50 hours of work one week and 64 hours the next, including working every other weekend.
$24-$26/HR
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
