Job Title: MIG Welder
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding on mild carbon steel (7-14 gauge, mainly 12 gauge) in various positions including horizontal, vertical, and circular. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, use various hand tools, and operate a hydraulic welding table. The candidate must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and complete projects within set target times. The majority of the day will consist of MIG welding, with some time spent transporting materials and using hand tools.

Work Environment

The work environment includes 40 welding booths with hydraulic tables, fabrication machinery such as presses, saws, and manual machinery, conveyors, and forklifts. The setting is heavy industrial, not well-lit, and can be dirty. Currently, there are 36 welders on the first shift and 15 on the second shift. The candidate will work independently in their own welding booth but will interact with their team lead or supervisor throughout the day. PPE such as steel-toe boots, eye protection, hoods, gloves, and sleeves are required and provided. The workplace is non-union, and 65% of employees are Spanish-speaking.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of University Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50
