Job Description

As a welder, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints from various manufacturing sites, laying out and fitting parts and components, performing MIG/GMAW and FCAW welding techniques, grinding and polishing welds, and operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and sit-down forklifts. Your role is crucial in ensuring the quality and precision of welded parts.

ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints from various manufacturing sites.Lay out and fit parts and components prior to tacking them together for welding.Run MIG/GMAW or FCAW welding techniques on metals such as mild steel, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel.Grind and polish welds to clean and detail the part before inspection.Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and sit-down forklifts to move parts.Essential SkillsProficiency in welding 1/8\" to 4\" carbon steel using .035/.045/.052 wire.Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop math.Direct structural steel welding skills with the ability to pass a weld test.Experience with fabrication equipment and tools for cutting, bending, and grinding parts.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in quality within a manufacturing environment.Exposure to magnetic particle testing, die penetrate testing, or X-ray testing of welds.Consistent work history with non-attendance-based reasons for leaving employment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled weld shop with weld cells organized into groups. Each welder has their own cell within a general area. The building has good ventilation, though occasional welding of galvanized steel may create a haze. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe boots, and a work shirt, with safety glasses provided. The team size is about 40 welders, and the 2nd shift crew is expected to grow from 4-6 members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00
