**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** The main responsibility of a welder/fitter is to assemble and weld aluminum and stainless steel trailers, and/or sub-assemblies. You will be required to layout and position parts according to a set of specifications, and weld in various positions such as flat, horizontal, overhead, and vertical. This role also involves interpreting blueprints and performing MIG welding on aluminum. Additionally, you may have to work at heights up to 15 feet and possibly in confined spaces. **Responsibilities** + Assemble and weld aluminum and stainless steel trailers and/or sub-assemblies. + Layout and position parts according to specifications. + Weld in various positions including flat, horizontal, overhead, and vertical. + Interpret blueprints. **Essential Skills** + Blueprint interpretation. + Proficient in using a tape measure (will be tested). + Ability to pass a weld test (horizontal, vertical, overhead passes). + Capability to crawl under trucks, weld on backs, and climb in and on trailers. + Welding certifications if no field experience. **Why Work Here?** This is a great opportunity for entry to mid-level welders to establish a career. You can choose either the 6 am to 4 pm shift or the 5 am to 3 pm shift. Shifts cannot be changed unless it is for overtime on Fridays. The pay rate ranges from $21 to $23 per hour, with the potential to earn up to a $3 increase in the first year based on attendance and performance. Evaluations occur at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year, with potential raises up to $1 at each evaluation. Additional raises are possible for exceptional performance, and perfect attendance bonuses and production bonuses up to $500 per month are available once hired on permanently. The manufacturing floor has 120 employees and is a very clean environment. Each trailer takes 17 days to complete, involving a mix of large and small parts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of KENT, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
