Your Role at KIK
As a Welder/Fitter, your primary focus will be to perform preventative maintenance to the equipment including diagnose and repair, and maintaining components for production systems. In addition, you will be required to provide cleaning, lubricating, troubleshooting and innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns.
What You’ll Be Doing
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals This role involves working in a manufacturing site and requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Utilize power tools and machinery. Perform welding tasks as directed under the direction of the immediate supervisor Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times Perform fitting tasks under the direction of the immediate supervisor Conduct exact measurements, layout, and fitting tasks per drawings/diagrams in accordance with Southlands proceduresWhat You’ll Bring
Completion of formal welding program with 2 year’s experience High School Diploma or GED Knowledge of basic shop mathematics Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings and welding symbols. Proficient in effective operation of welding equipment Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment, or materials 50 lbs. Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity Ability to perform shift work with some overtime, hold-overs and call-outs required. Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment (No beards) and protective eyewear. Pass physical & drug testing.What You Will Get
