Welder Job Duties:

Welding together metal components with arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine bases, parts, plant equipment Accurately selects type of welding equipment and consumable rod required to conform with the metal characteristics of the components to be welded. Accurately determines material setups, welding positions and the specifications involved. Correctly and routinely sets up welding equipment required; clamps materials to be welded to dimensional requirements. Typically determines most appropriate gas (with proper regulation) and orifice to obtain proper welds and maximum strength. Determines various techniques and procedures appropriate to the types of welding to be performed Responsible for performing welding ranging from standard to specialized and involved, using arc or gas methods (or combinations) Other duties as assigned
