**Welder- $35** **Job Description** Perform specialized weld functions required in the production of heat and transfer equipment. The welding will primarily be Flux Core and TIG. Proficiency in an out-of-position manner with a minimum of twelve procedures is required. This includes FCAW, GMAW & GTAW processes, including two specialty procedures (small diameter pipe, tube to tubesheet, subarc, overlay, stress) with good weld quality and production time. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret shop blueprints related to weld joints, symbols, and general layout, fit-up, or assembly operations. + Operate overhead cranes and forklifts related to welding part setups and removals. + Set up and operate arc-air equipment. + Perform weld rod control as pertains to AS 5.2. + Conduct in-process inspection and NDE (i.e., MT and PT). + Understand the effect of interpass/temp/heat input related to distortion during and after welding with steels and alloys. + Perform minor maintenance related to wire feed machines and related welding equipment. + Perform layouts and basic fit-up and assembly operations. + Meet basic tool requirements for the classification. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in Flux Core welding in a manufacturing/shop environment. + Proficiency in TIG welding. + 2+ years of relevant welding experience. + Ability to pass 5F & 6G weld tests. + Proficiency in blueprint reading related to welding joints and symbols. + Understanding of various grades of materials (pipe, plate, bar, fittings). + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Ability to operate a forklift. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with GMAW & GTAW processes. + Knowledge of small diameter pipe, tube to tubesheet, subarc, overlay, stress welding. **Why Work Here?** Competitive compensation with pay rate and per diem. Voluntary overtime is available depending on the workload of the week. The work environment is a machine and fabrication shop with a total of 120 shop workers, including 75 welders and 15 machinists. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Joplin, Missouri **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
