**Job Title: Welder**
**Job Description**
Our Client is seeking a skilled welder for the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) at their engineering facility in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. The welder will be responsible for manual gas, electric arc, and semi-automatic high-pressure and structural type welding to close tolerance. This role primarily involves GTAW (TIG) and Plasma welding. Compensation will be based on experience, ideally within the $30-$40 an hour range.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read, interpret, and fabricate from simple or complex drawings associated with carbon steel and alloy steel metal fabrication.
+ Perform layout, fit-up, and weld-outs of all types of valve assemblies, plug assemblies, and structural supports or attachments, meeting applicable quality requirements.
+ Interpret weld procedures and adjust welding equipment settings for specific electrodes or wires.
+ Tack-weld all fit-ups and perform final welding in all positions.
+ Weld carbon, alloy steels, and stainless steel using various processes, including submerged-arc weld, shielded metal-arc weld, gas tungsten-arc weld, and flux core weld.
+ Identify materials, prepare for welding, make layouts, manually grind bevels, and perform fit-up to dimensional tolerances.
+ Understand and lead lean manufacturing initiatives within the department on a daily basis.
+ Assist the Shop Foreman in directing and coaching employees on lean manufacturing practices.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to meet business needs.
+ Communicate effectively with shop and office personnel.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficient in TIG welding (GTAW), Plasma welding, and various welding processes such as SMAW and GMAW.
+ Experience with inlay/overlay and PTAW (Plasma Transferred ARC Welding).
+ Ability to read blueprints and interpret ASME Section IX standards.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Must pass a welding test.
+ Experience with or exposure to lean manufacturing practices.
+ Prior experience with hard-facing in commercial, nuclear, or safety-related fields is highly preferred.
+ Leadership skills and the ability to influence others.

**Work Environment**
This role is for the 2nd shift, 2pm-10:30pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The work environment is very clean, with a focus on lean manufacturing practices.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $83200.00
Direct hire, full benefits, PTO, sick pay, holiday pay, 401k, manager/supervisor promotion options, will be covered during the interview process and can be sent to candidates if needed before hand.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Rancho Santa Margarita,CA.
