**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** We specialize in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for various industries, including electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance. With a recent expansion allowing over a 50% production increase, we are currently seeking skilled MIG welders to join our team. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components. + Read and interpret work orders. + Use basic hand tools such as tape measures and specialty equipment. + Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell). + Perform rework as required. + Support production system initiatives and participate in improvement events. + Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train). + Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using shop math and layout techniques. + Perform MIG welding using various arc and gas welding equipment. + Inspect assembly/components for conformance to specifications. + Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools. + Train new/current associates. + Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and maintain work area and tools. + Maintain daily time records. + Other job duties as assigned, which may vary by location. **Essential Skills** + High School Diploma/GED required. + Vocational training is desired. + AWS D.1.1 weld certification required. + Ability to read, write, and comprehend. + Basic computer usage knowledge. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with welding, MIG, metal fabrication, flux, blueprints, FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, measuring, arc, and gas welding. + Ability to operate various hand tools and portable power tools. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that values innovation and growth. The pace is fast and performance-driven. The dress code includes plain colored T-shirts (preferably blue or grey), jeans, and steel-toed boots. We have multiple shifts available, including: First Shift (6:30am - 3:00pm), Second Shift (3:15pm - 11:45pm), and Third Shift. All shifts may require overtime and are likely to work 3 out of 4 Saturdays each month. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALEVILLE, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.27 - $25.77/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
