Associate Welder
Associate Welder needed for an industrial fabrication shop. Reports directly to the Operations Manager and shall be responsible for production welding work with precision a dedication to quality, an exceptional work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team. Maintain welding certifications, quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and job supplies.
Applies basic welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders.
Lays out and marks points on parts or sub-assemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Assemble fabricated pieces into huge structures utilizing blueprints furnished
Fitting and tack welding the large sub-assemblies that form the hull, ship
Fitters build in-place all interior structures, hatches, doors, bulkheads, etc., to complete all the steel work.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Participates in special projects as required.
1. Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Technical or vocational training preferred.
3. Certified in Stainless Steel, Steel, Aluminum and Copper/Nickel; and MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes.

3-5 years of related welding experience.
