JOB TITLE – Welder
 

INDUSTRY – Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication Shop

 

PAY RATE – $23-$25/hr DOE

 

LOCATION:

In the West York/ Thomasville/ Dover, PA Area.

 

SHIFT:

1st Shift: 7AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday

(Summer Hours: Typically, 4X10HR Days; May be flexible to candidates working either 5 Days vs 4 Days, Down the Line, or up-front Case-By-Case.)

OVERTIME: Yes, occasional OT as necessary.
 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Welder will be TiG welding in the Sheet Metal and Fabrication Shop primarily working with Stainless Steel and occasionally Carbon.  be responsible for the following, but not limited to, operates machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind metal workpieces to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products.

 

MOST IMPORTANT THINGS SEEKING—

Seeking mechanical and technical capabilities in Welding Roles; Sheet metal experience/ Industrial experience preferred. Seeking a welder with capabilities to weld 1/8th to 20 Gauge Ideally; TiG Welding Experience highly sought out; Stainless steel welding preferred. JOB DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED: (Not intended to provide an all-inclusive list of duties, to provide an overview of essential functions and basic duties.)

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, weld-symbols, etc. required. Ability to test and inspect welds with use of tape measures, calipers, gauges. etc. and a variety of hand tools as required. Ability to identify and measure material accurately; Ability to produce quality parts/ products consistently.   Knowledge and experience with Layout and Fabrication is beneficial. Performs TIG weld on stainless steel, sheet metal, occasionally on Carbon, based upon project requirements Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of Sheet Metal/stainless steel is a big plus but not required. Sets up components for welding according to specifications Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements - can weld to desired requirements Examines welds for bead size and other specifications Inspect machinery and workpieces to ensure that they remain compliant with specifications to reduce any malfunctions and associated loss of production. Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces throughout any and all processes, Identifying/ Correcting, and or removing any defective pieces. Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed. Willingness to work as a team, and independently, assisting in other areas as needed. Works additional hours as needed; Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED, preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will require you to stand and walk for prolonged periods, and occasionally sit for short periods of the shift. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, squat, bend, twist, kneel, stand, and walk as needed and when applicable up to the duration of shift Due to the nature of the job, specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation.
