**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** Currently seeking highly motivated and talented individuals for welding positions in our Steel and Irrigation Operations division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. **Responsibilities** + Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures + Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence + Utilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipment + Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings + Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner + Read and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms, and blueprints + Perform minor welding machine maintenance (i.e., tips, liners, gas cups) + Use labor reporting system, routing shop forms, and fill out move tags **Essential Skills** + One month of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment + Ability to accurately read a measuring tape + Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions + Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner + Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment + Ability to pass an onsite welding assessment + Ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED equivalent + One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment + American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized school + Six months of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment + Ability to read and interpret blueprints correctly without assistance + High awareness for safety at all times + Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision + Passion and integrity and the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results + At least 2 months of welding experience within the last 2 years + Steady work history + Safety-focused + Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently **Why Work Here?** We offer high pay, good training programs, and opportunities for career growth with a large company. The campus is very large and requires candidates to drive from building to building. It is a very industrial environment that can be noisy and at times, dirty. Shift hours are 2nd: Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11 PM OR Monday - Thursday 3 PM - 1 AM, and 3rd: Monday - Friday 11 PM - 7 AM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley, Nebraska. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
