Job Description

We are currently in need of an experienced Welder/Fabricator to work in Annapolis, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience in MIG/STICK welding, performing layout, measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and machining pieces of metal and steel. The role involves MIG welding, semi-automatic wire fit welding, and submerged arc welding. Candidates must be skilled in reading blueprints and shop drawings, and translating them accurately onto materials. The position requires attention to detail to ensure materials are not wasted. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG and STICK welding and fabrication work.Weld in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead) on thick plates.Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.Measure, cut, drill, and grind metal and steel pieces.Perform layout work by translating blueprints onto actual materials.Ensure accurate measurements and cuts to avoid material wastage.Engage in heavy-duty industrial repairs and maintenance for State Highway draw bridges.Essential SkillsExperience in MIG/STICK welding.Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop drawings.Ability to weld in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead).Experience with heavy plate welding and bridge work.Detail-oriented with strong measuring and cutting skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAWS D1.1 or AWS D1.5 certification (American Welding Society).Willingness to perform work in a small team environment.Flexibility to assist in multiple areas as needed.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a small shop where candidates must be comfortable getting hands-on and wearing multiple hats. It is a very team-oriented environment where colleagues support each other. The role involves working on large-scale, structural projects, primarily focused on heavy-duty industrial repairs and maintenance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
