**Job Title: Welder and Fabricator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabricating custom structures and piping systems, interpreting blueprints, and operating various types of equipment. This role requires a high degree of precision and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. **Responsibilities** + Fabricate custom structures and piping systems to tight tolerances specified on engineered drawings. + Estimate work orders and submit funding requests. + Populate online work packages following NASA processes. + Order materials and tooling for the team. + Interpret blueprints and weld callouts to fabricate hardware within drawing specifications. + Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and oscillating man lifts. + Communicate effectively with others and develop customer relations. + Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for work package management, including email, Word, and Excel. **Essential Skills** + 10+ years of fabrication and welding experience. + Ability to pass multiple welding qualification tests, primarily in the 6G position, open root. + Proficiency in GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW on various metals, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. + Experience in fabricating both structural hardware and piping systems. + Proficiency in various metal cutting processes, including Oxygen/Acetylene, Plasma, and Carbon Arc. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Prefer candidates with pipe fitting/welding and structural fabrication experience. + Hands-on experience with custom fabrication techniques for manufacturing one-of-a-kind flight test articles. + Ability to pass the welding qualification test to retain employment. + Must pass a company and government check. + Valid VA driver’s license with a good driving record to drive company vehicles. **Why Work Here?** We offer a highly competitive benefits package, including outstanding medical benefits, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match, life and AD&D insurance, dependent life insurance, short and long-term disability, travel accident insurance, federal holidays, annual leave, sick leave, professional development opportunities, and tuition and textbook reimbursement. **Work Environment** Candidates will work onsite at NASA Langley Research Center, located in Hampton, VA. The standard shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime available as needed.
