Job Title: Welder and Fitter
Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Welder and Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fitting large structural steel parts, reading blueprints, and building parts and performing layouts. This role requires proficiency in selecting equipment, planning part layouts, and executing tasks according to engineering production drawings.

ResponsibilitiesWeld large parts using a 16\" weld wire sizeRead and interpret blueprintsBuild parts and perform layoutsSelect equipment and plan part layouts: cut, fit material, tack material, and weld according to engineering production drawingsLayout workpieces per drawing without guidance or current part fixturesRead and use a tape measure, compass, micrometer, mag level, protractor, versa gauge, and caliperPerform welding without the use of fixturesFit up materials/components/products per blueprints/job specifications within quality standards and allotted routing timeSet up and adjust machines and equipment to produce products that meet tolerance and quality standardsEssential SkillsProficiency in blueprint readingWelding skills with large parts and 16\" weld wire sizeExperience in fitting and layout weldingAbility to read and use measuring instruments such as tape measure, compass, micrometer, mag level, protractor, versa gauge, and caliperAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in fabricationAbility to work independently without guidanceStrong attention to detailWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in a large structural steel environment. The position typically involves day shifts with 8-hour workdays. The facility is equipped with the necessary machines and equipment to produce high-quality products within tolerance standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Eureka, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00
