**Welder and Fitter** **Paying $30.00 / HR - $32.00 / HR** **Location - Clackamas, OR** **Details:** + Currently looking for welder fitter/fabricators for their shop. + They support the concrete industry and build steel forms that concrete will be poured into for utility and structural projects like pillars, walkways, etc. + The forms can vary in size but can be quite large. + They are looking for fitters that can fit and weld quickly and accurately. + Welders will read prints and fabricate using .035/.045 hardwire and flux core on mild steel. **Qualifications:** + 5+ years experience doing Dual Shield and MIG welding, doing layouts and fitting. + Previous experience doing print reading and fabricating. **Environment/ Shift:** + Very clean and organized job shop environment. Family run company. Very important that we send candidates that interview well that will get along with other employees + Hours are generally Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm for day shift with some OT on Fridays as needed. **Employee Value Proposition:** + Small shop with good culture. Benefits include health, dental, 401K, vacation/PTO. **Weld Test Information:** + Process will be a resume/interview with shop manager and then weld test with fabrication manager. + After quick meeting candidates will be required to do a vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld test doing hardwire .045 and dual shield .035 on 1/4" plate. + Upon passing the visual weld test, welders will build a box with pre-cut pieces of metal and use written description and weld symbols to build box with specific lengths and measurements and will be evaluated on final product. Total interview time usually takes people 1-1.5 hours. + The piece ends up looking like a rectangle tube (about a foot long) then there is a plate that needs to be placed in/on top of a specific area. There are also bracket pieces that get fitted onto that plate in a specific area and a specific measurement apart. + Welders must not exceed one error in weld symbols and one error in fitting up. If they are successful, they will be offered $30. However, if they can complete the test in under 45 minutes with no errors, they will be offered $32. **Any qualified candidate will have the ability to interview within 24 hours with potential following week start date.
