Here, what you do matters. **Job Overview:** Supervises All Welding and Fitting Crews. Reports to Offshore Construction Manager/DOCM, or Deck Foreman. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established safety standards and work practices + Follow all company policies and procedures + Wear, inspect, care for, and replace required personal protective equipment and ensure all subordinates do likewise + Plan welding procedure qualifications and production as instructed by the Superintendent + Ensure sufficient tools and supplies are available onboard to allow welding work to be performed timely and efficiently + Maintain and report stock of welding rods and gases onboard + Ensure that all welding is done in accordance with approved procedures + Conduct daily tool box meetings + Ensure tools are maintained in a safe working condition + Ensure the welders’ locker and storeroom are maintained in neat and orderly condition + Use TRAs and Tool Box Meetings to eliminate unsafe acts and reduce frequency and number of injuries + Ensure subordinates do not make or utilize homemade tools + Ensure welding leads and gas hoses are run in congestion-free and safe manner + Any other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Barge’s Superintendent + Following all company policies and procedures, and ensuring subordinates do the same **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + High school graduate + Experience with different welding and pipelay construction methods and systems + 2 Years as Welder Leaderman \#LI-DNI McDermott is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
