Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. This position performs welding cowbells, mating pipes, manifold flanges, U-HAUL mufflers, and large multi-can “Y-pipes.” Also performs plasma cutting and out of position welding.

Ensures that welding equipment is in good and safe working order. Meets or exceeds set production targets where applicable. Performs and records rework where applicable. Report existing or potential machine problems. Ensures that job set ups are properly set up and all components fit before beginning welding and that machine safety protocols are all functional. Keep area, machines, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and clear of debris. Must use correct PPE and dress safely for the job
