**Job Title: Welder III**
**Job Description**
Working under the direction of the Welding Lead, the Welder III completes projects with little or no supervision and performs a variety of welding processes using electric resistance, oxyacetylene, or plasma-arc torches. The Welder III may assign work to Welders and check their work, weld commonly used metals and alloys of various shapes, sizes, and thickness, select welding electrodes for specific welds to ensure penetration and fusion of base and filler metals, and weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to blueprints, layouts, or work orders. The Welder III is also responsible for welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Give work assignments and provide guidance to other Welder staff as assigned.
+ Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
+ Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as TIG and MIG.
+ Specialize in certain types of welding such as custom fabrication, welding, structural construction welding, or production welding.
+ Use electric/air tools and power tools as required.
+ Scan all jobs through the Made2Manage (M2M) system.
**Essential Skills**
+ Knowledge of TIG with some MIG.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
+ Use of electric and air tools.
+ Experience working with stainless steel, sheet metal.
+ Ability to work with 16-18 gauge material.
+ Proficiency in structural welding from ½” to 6”.
+ Will be given a Welding Test on TIG, MIG & Structural, Flux core, Tig welding, Stainless steel.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ Five years of experience as Welder II, or a welding certification and three years of welding experience in the trade.
+ Some college or industry courses in welding are desirable.
+ Five years of machine shop experience is desirable.
+ Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment.
+ Forklift, pallet jack, and hoist experience desirable.
+ Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
+ Ability to perform work independently and as part of a team.
+ Must be organized, reliable, punctual, adaptable, and flexible.
+ Demonstrate a positive professional demeanor and dress.
+ Adherence to all company policies.

**Work Environment**
The company is the leading designer and manufacturer of custom machinery for the production of various ethnic foods from around the world. Their customer base ranges from large multinational corporations to single line in-store producers. They have shipped these machines to Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America. You must be able to utilize correct body mechanics during the performance of physical activity such as pushing/pulling, stooping, squatting, sitting, and lifting as applicable to the position. The work schedule is 1st Shift, 6:00am-2:30pm, with 1-2 hours of overtime daily at the most.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pomona, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
