Job Description: \n

Works under the direction of a foreman, interprets weld maps and weld procedures, identifies material types and welds pipe spools.\n

Functional Requirements:\n\nRead and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift\nPass required welding test(s):\n\n in a 6G position\nGTAW\nGTAW\/SMAW\n GTAW\/FCAW\n GMAW and \nGTAW\/SMAW\n\n\nMust be familiar with weld map, weld procedure, weld process numbers, filler metal selection guide, preheat & interpass temperature, welding symbols, material color codes, weld wire color codes, etc.\nGrind tacks with pneumatic grinders\nAware of surroundings\nAssist in setting up and taking down pipe spools\nMaintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.\n\n

Qualification Standards:\n\nPreferably one (2) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill\nPre-employment qualification test if applicable\nRequired Welding tests\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\n Turner Industries Group Indoctrination\nOSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site \"Personal Protective Equipment\" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)\nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.\n\n

Physical Involvement:\n\nEmployee may be required to do the following: \n\nClimbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level\nMaintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.\nReaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials\nCoordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment\nLifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.\nStanding; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling\nSeeing with or without correction\nHearing with or without correction\n\n\n\n

Mental Involvement:\n\nEmployee may be required to do the following: \n\nFollowing set procedures and standards\nApplying basic mathematical skills\nPlanning work and selecting proper tools\nComparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects\nPicturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked\nFollowing oral and\/or written directions, plans and blueprints\nReading\nWriting\nAbility to recognize and report safety hazards\n\n\n\n
