Responsibilities
General Statement - To maintain, operate, repair, build and rebuild plant infrastructure, tools, tooling, assemblies, production parts, experimental parts, and systems pertaining to work by means of welding within the individual's skill set and/or with proper training. Team with others to weld, fabricate, inspect, rework of all types and materials to ensure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Tasks performed will require product conveyance, multi-tasking and machine operation.
+ Duties include - Weld, fabricate, rework and maintain tools, tooling, assemblies, manufacturing parts, production/experimental items and plant infrastructure of all types and materials and systems pertaining to it.
+ Effectively communicate and cooperate with operations and other support functions.
+ Work in conformance with local, state and federal codes and regulations, blueprints, specifications, trade practice, shop practice and verbal or written instructions.
+ Maintain any licenses or certificates as required by local, state and federal codes and regulations within the geographical area, as pertains to the individual skill set performing such work.
+ Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, remote overhead crane, weld condition machines, sandblasters, brake press/shears, and stress relief ovens as applicable.
+ Perform work on aerial platforms, railcars, and elevated structures and scaffolding as applicable. Training new methods and advanced technologies.
Level A Tooling Welder includes -
+ Plan, estimate, sequence, and perform any task required to program applicable to weld shop, fabricate, weld, assemble, maintain, inspect, and repair any and all types of tools.
+ Use processes such as cutting, grinding, spotting, painting, abrasive blasting, hand finish, shaping, bending, drilling, reaming, tapping, lay-out, welding, stress relief ovens, inspection, set-up, operate all types of fabrication and measurement equipment and machine tools required to fabricate tools to include, but not be limited to, disc sanders, grinders, band saws and laydown saw, drill presses, de-burr tumbler, coping and beveling pipe machine. Coordinate, plan, estimate, and sequence work with other employees. Use and/or interpret tool and engineering drawings and computer aided design models, sketches, templates, tool design manuals, verbal information, master tools, production parts, digital data and various handbooks in accomplishing and communicating work requirements.
+ Know, understand and perform material preparation, welding processes, and correct usage of amperage, voltage, pressure gauges and tips, brazing, soldering, and bonding materials.
+ Perform various welding processes to fabricate tools including SMAW(Shield Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), SAW (Submerged ARC Welding), TIP TIG, plasma arc cutting, weld conditioning, and vacuum tight welding of face-sheet seams on tools of various alloys and metals, etc...
+ All welds must be visually and functionally acceptable throughout all ranges of thickness (0.10"-5") per industry standards.
+ Perform various welding processes with various alloys and metals including, but not limited to, steel, stainless steel, titanium, invar, aluminum, tool steel, and Kirk site. Successfully pass and maintain weld certifications.
+ Perform basic shop math and pass yearly eye exam.
+ Perform routine minor machine maintenance daily on your machine.
+ Manufacturing Welder includes employees who are able to perform all functions of the welder function, along with performing Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of various metals and metal alloys to fabricate experimental and production parts and assemblies.
+ Relative to the inspection duties performs the following: maintain required AWS certifications.
+ Required to read applicable weld symbols, intrepid blueprints, engineering drawings computer aided design drawings and electronic work instructions. Initiate and document any non-conforming condition for Material Review Board action. Perform Class A TIG welds that will pass radiographic, penetrant, and pressure test compliance requirements.
+ Successfully pass and maintain weld certifications.
+ Perform basic shop math and pass yearly eye exam.
+ Perform routine minor machine maintenance daily on your machine.
Qualifications
Preferred:
+ 2+ years of experience
Required:
+ Must be willing and able to work any shift (2nd shift)
+ Must complete a welding test before hire
+ High School or GED Completion
