Welder – Weekly Pay – Interview & Start ASAP

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

Under the direction and supervision of the Department Production Superintendent and in cooperation with the Foreman and Bay Coordinator, weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.

Key Deliverables

• Adhere to all safety rules and perform work at a quality level

• Read and understand assigned blueprints prior to starting a project.

• Participate in process and product development and improvement programs.

• Accurately inspect metal prior to welding to ensure clean welds.

• Perform grinding operations that comply with standards.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

• Ability to perform grinding and be able to pass a required welding skills test.

• Necessary to be able to do all Grinder tasks.

• Must be able to safely perform gang-welding techniques (dos and don’ts).

• Must be able to safely weld vertical, flat, and overhead with both MiG and stick.

• Must inspect metal prior to welding for smoothness and acceptability and clean welds to presentable state (grinding operations).

• Must work with Fitters on proper assembly of equipment.

• Keep work area clean and neat.

• Clock in on assigned jobs as appropriate.

• Ensure welding machine settings are appropriate for work to be performed.

• Must be able to safely use cranes and forklifts.

• Must be trained in and know PPE requirements for welding including hood and filter shades and arm/body protection.

• Must be able to read and understand weld symbols.

• Must maintain welding machines by keeping them clean and changing liners in the welding guns.

• Follows company policies and procedures at all times.

• Follows proper safety rules and procedures at all times.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 0-1 Year of Welding experience required.

• Heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred

• Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files.

• Knowledge and ability to perform all Grinder tasks required.

• Ability to properly and safely MiG weld, stick weld, pulse weld, or arc gouging required.

• Ability to read and understand weld symbols required.

Pay: $20.50 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience)

Shift:

1st shift: Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (or four 10-hours shifts and one 8-hour shift with mandatory 8 hours overtime each Friday’s shift); AND optional overtime each Saturday from 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM

2nd shift: Monday – Thursday: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM (or four 12-hour shifts with the 8 hours overtime included in Thursday’s shift); AND optional overtime each Saturday from 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
