Candidates with MIG welding experience are highly preferred. **2nd Shift Hours:** Mon-Thurs, 3:30 PM - 2 AM, overtime may be required on Fridays, especially during the busy fall season. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Connect welding cables to obtain specified amperage and voltage. + Start power supply to produce electric current. + Strike the arc to melt and deposit metal from the electrode to the workpiece. + Manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line, ensuring proper depth of fusion and bead. + Weld in flat, horizontal, or vertical positions. + Examine welds for bead size and specifications. + Manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. + Clean or degrease weld joints or workpieces. + Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. + Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarring surfaces. + Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter. + Preheat workpieces with hand torch or heating furnace. + Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a jig or fixture. + Tack assemblies together.
