Job Description
Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Utilize welding equipment to make repairs to discontinuities of submerged arc weld seams on steel pipes.
ResponsibilitiesPerform various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations.Manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, or other instructions.Utilize welding equipment to repair discontinuities in submerged arc weld seams on steel pipes.Set up welding fixtures and parameters (amps, volts, etc.).Use conventional and precision measuring instruments.Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.Maintain welding equipment.Apply finish grinding using manual and power tools.Utilize various hand tools and equipment.Use mobile device applications and programs.Adhere to safety and housekeeping protocols.Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.Essential SkillsProficient in assigned welding techniques.Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).Experience with conventional and precision measuring instruments.Ability to conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.Experience in welding equipment maintenance.Skill in finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.Experience in using various hand tools and equipment.Ability to use mobile device applications and programs.Understanding of safety and housekeeping protocols.Successful completion of an internal welding test.One year of experience in various forms of welding.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have reliable transportation.Experience in welding (1 year) preferred.Ability to work in changing ambient temperatures.Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.Steel toe boots and sleeved shirts & welding hood required (employee's responsibility).Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, protective gloves provided.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is non-climate controlled and can be dirty. During downtime, all hands are on deck for tasks such as sweeping and picking up. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday, with the possibility of mandatory work on Friday. Shifts are 5am-3:30pm or 3pm-1:30am. The weekend shift is from 5am-5:30pm, with work for 36 hours paid as 40 hours.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39000.00 - $52000.00
