TWB (a part of Worthington Steel) is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern to join their team. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and learning opportunities in the field of welding engineering. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced Engineering team and contribute to projects in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and execution of welding engineering projects
• Collaborate with the team to improve welding processes and techniques
• Conduct research and analysis to support new product development initiatives
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving welding-related issues
• Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and quality
• Support the maintenance of standardized operating procedures
• Assist in data collection and analysis for process improvement projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion
• Contribute to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team
Skills and Qualifications:
• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field
• Knowledge or coursework in welding processes and techniques
• Familiarity with industrial controls (PLC) and robotics is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to projects
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Must be physically able to work in a manufacturing environment
• Openness to occasional travel for expanded development opportunities throughout TWB

• Potential for continued co-op - working full-time during breaks and part-time while continuing studies
