Welding Inspector
TRS Staffing have a fantastic opportunity for a Welding Inspector.

The role will see you undertakes daily audits of random welding station, checking all aspects of the process including welder qualification for WPS being undertaken, WPS is relevant to the weld being completed, welding machine has current calibration, consumables are correct to the WPS and are in date, fit-up is correct, materials being welded have correct traceability present etc

The Role Reporting to Fabrication Engineer Responsible for the Quality Control of the Offshore Substation jacket structure in regard to steel work Undertakes daily audits of random welding station, checking all aspects of the process including welder qualification for WPS being undertaken, WPS is relevant to the weld being completed, welding machine has current calibration, consumables are correct to the WPS and are in date, fit-up is correct, materials being welded have correct traceability present etc Ensures NDT requirements i.e Holding times, calibrations, and respective equipment ect, are carried out by the NDT technicians Attends inspections in accordance with agreed ITP – incoming good inspection, fit up inspections, black inspections, dimension control checks etc. Reviews manufacturing documentation - weld records, welding traceability and NDT reports - during the fabrication process Manages steel work aspects of punchlists prior to coating Manages steel work aspects of punchlists prior to coating Perform and witness dimensional control test on different parts/components Ensures NDT requirements i.e Holding times, calibrations, and respective equipment ect, are carried out by the NDT technicians Attends inspections in accordance with agreed ITP – incoming good inspection, fit up inspections, black inspections, dimension control checks etc. Reviews manufacturing documentation - weld records, welding traceability and NDT reports - during the fabrication process Manages steel work aspects of punchlists prior to coating Manages steel work aspects of punchlists prior to coating Perform and witness dimensional control test on different parts/components
Your Profile Qualified to Senior Weld Inspector (CSWIP 3.2)  More than 5 years’ experience at the required level for this type of fabrication of Offshore jacket structures Proven experience in international norms, ISO 3834, EN1090, ISO 14732, DNV-OS-C401 Professional standard of written and spoken English preferable knowledge of local language Qualified to use inspection instruments for the purposes of occasional cross checks. Health and Safety qualifications as required Worked for Client or Contractor on offshore fabrication projects. Ideally experienced in offshore wind. Extensive experience and good understanding of the manufacture and testing of mechanical equipment  Significant practical experience working in a similar role. IT literate in Microsoft Office Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) Able to review manufacturing records and manufacturing drawings Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication standards ISO, EN, DNV and other industry norms Able to work with minimal supervision Preferably experienced in coating processes This is a long term contract opportunity, If you are interested to learn more, please apply with your updated CV.
