What You’ll Do and Impact:

As a Welding Product Specialist, you'll serve as an expert in your field, assisting our teams in WA, OR, MT, ID, WY, UT, CO, and AZ to achieve welding process excellence. Your deep knowledge of our comprehensive welding portfolio, encompassing welding equipment and consumables, will play a vital role in identifying and pursuing growth opportunities. You'll excel in presenting solutions that deliver genuine value to our customers through documented improvements. Whether leading or providing support, you'll play a pivotal part in both safeguarding and expanding our presence in regional accounts.

Responsibilities:

Drive automation growth by collaborating with integration partners and internal teams.Support emerging technologies in advanced processes, including waveform development and communication protocols.Transform sales in torch, power supply, and robotic projects with technical expertise.Provide expertise across welding automation markets, including robotics, advanced welding processes, and troubleshooting.Manage project scopes and timelines to align with business goals.Uphold ITW’s Core Values: Integrity, Simplicity, Trust, Respect, and Shared Risk.Enhance customer experiences through welding expertise.Collaborate with the sales team on strategic account planning to secure end-user business.Partner with divisional resources to share insights on competition, innovation, and customer needs.Develop impactful presentations and product demos to showcase solution value.Maintain clear communication with sales, distributors, end-users, and divisions.Provide training and support to end-users and distribution partners.Manage your territory efficiently by focusing on key accounts and activities using an 80/20 approach.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

BS in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology degree or equivalent experience5+ years in welding or a related industry, with experience in robotics, controls, and advanced welding processes.Subject matter expert in manufacturing welding processes and welding variablesStrong technical understanding of welding automation, including communication protocols and controls.Technically conversant in latest welding/automation technology plus experience with welding codesAWS Certified Welding Inspector qualification preferredREQUIRED: Ability to travel overnight at least 50 - 75%

What you need to do to be successful in this role:

Strong business acumen requiredAbility to develop strategic plans and proposals around current customer landscapeHands-on welding ability, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentAbility to communicate with and build relationships with key decision makers and influencersStrategic selling skills with a command of value-added sales techniques to support conversion process.   Strong Communication, presentation, time/project management, collaboration and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office programs and CRM system

Compensation:

Salary Range: Welding Product Specialist - Automation compensation package offers a competitive base salary annually. This range is dependent on the geographic location, the successful candidate’s qualification, and prior experience. We are committed to maintaining equitable and competitive salaries across different regions through regular reviews and adjustments.​

​Sales Compensation & Bonus Plan: Employees in this role are eligible to participate in the Territory Sales Manager compensation plan, which includes performance-based quarterly bonuses, allowing employees to increase their earnings through exceptional performance. Annual salary increases are also provided, reflecting both individual contributions and overall company success.​
