Job Duties and QualificationsJob Description
Under broad direction, provides on-site consulting and monitoring of oil well blowout and emergency conditions, firefighting, well-killing and other blow out procedures in emergency drilling situations. Ensures that well-site activities are completed in accordance with Company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Advises on specific servicing problems and recommends use of specialized tools, techniques, and services. Assists in repair and maintenance of equipment. Completes internal reports, and customer reports per job scope without supervision. Understands whether a tool is applicable for a particular well project, without supervision. Demonstrates understanding of procedure(s) to include down hole tools to be used to accomplish project objective(s), under supervision. Operates hydraulic systems and can substitute components if necessary for repair under supervision. Identifies needed additions or changes to hydraulic systems for operational improvement under supervision. Operates firefighting equipment without supervision. Demonstrates moderate understanding of fluid handling systems and recommends components, without supervision. Consistently uses good judgment to ascertain and mitigate deviation from applicable Halliburton Management System standards, work methods, process maps, forms, checklists, and templates. Assists on the assembly of jet cutter equipment on job location and basic understanding of operating parameters. Facilitates compliance with response plans. Able to perform well control surface interventions. Demonstrates knowledge of well control operations for well bore hydraulic control. Troubleshoots wellhead components, under supervision. Participates and assists with plans and procedures going forward to correct abnormal well conditions, under supervision. Can supervise and coordinates activities by other well control specialists, level I & II. Assists during execution of job procedures using well site equipment (e.g., Drilling Rigs, W/O rigs, HWO operations, CTU & W/L operations and services). Assists in preparing job procedures.Requirements
Completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum of 10 years of experience in well site operations. Must work under hazardous conditions including high pressure, high temperature, loud noise, fire, chemical and gas exposures, moving machinery, etc. Must be able to maintain professional relationships with regulators, inspectors, officials, suppliers, and customers. Well organized with strong planning and project management skills required. Attention to detail, quality orientation required. Must be able to organize multiple projects. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem solving abilities. Strong PC computing skills, including MS Office and engineering software. Good communication and effective working relationships exist with other departments.
