This position is the liaison for all traffic engineering concerns for internal and external customers in the West Area. This includes providing traffic engineering expertise for project scoping, layout development and review, corridor studies, and other tasks as needed for program delivery including meeting with internal MnDOT contacts and external customers such as cities, counties, engineering consultants, the public, and the FHWA. This position is also responsible for identifying and programming West Area trunk highways safety projects.
In addition, this position will act as the key expert for one of the following additional duties: Tort Claims, Speed Zoning, Crash Analysis, or Safety Projects for the Metro Area.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite two days per week but may be required to work onsite more depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
+ Engineering experience related to roadways.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of Traffic Engineering principles and practices.
+ Experience attending and presenting at public and council meetings.
+ Experience on project technical advisory committees.
+ Knowledge of crash analysis and ICE reports.
+ A valid Class D Driver’s License.
