Responsibilities The Opportunity The role is focused on ensuring supervising and managing accounting and reporting, analysis, business and process support as well as delivering real time, accurate and relevant information within a customer focused environment. This position is responsible for the BENELUX, Germany, Italy and France ESSA HQ Accounting (including HFM Reporting); Comp & Ben accounting and reporting such as group Insurance and bonus reserve. Also responsible to ensure COE team support in all ESSA HQ accounting matters, investments reporting, IC accounting, matching and PEP Consolidation. The role will cooperate with multiple countries in Europe, IBM, managers to ensure financial package in USGAAP as well as statutory deliverables Your Impact As West Europe Statutory Accounting Manager your scope would consist: BENELUX Statutory manager: Oversees all general accounting activities, including transactional processing and reconciliation process Lead and participate in the monthly accounting close ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with corporate and statutory policies Manage the annual submission of U.S. Tax Data Collection Package Request for NWE (HFM entities) Review/approve submission. Prepared by L8 Coord GL Rpt OCF Tax Manage process of US GAAP pension Accounting for NL and BE Support SwissCo reporting (compliant) and annual ABA process Manage preparation Benelux certification deck for quarterly certification calls Manage preparation Benelux ABA deck for annual meeting Review/Approve SwissCo compliance (annual checklist), Prepared by L8 Coord GL Rpt OCF Tax Support statutory accountant NL & BE on: external (KPMG) audit for NL and BE preparation of annual accounts and financial statements for review correctness of VAT declarations prepared by Shared Service Center (SSC) (local) Corporate Income Tax declaration Control projects: wide range of activities: ESG reporting, Pillar 2, annual Service Level Agreements review, Annual Cash Mobilization (dividends, loans), … Europe reporting manager: Lead the services R2R according to SLA. DC: Ensure the integrity of the Company’s ledgers and associated systems. Develop systems and procedures for efficient and effective management of the Company’s finances. Oversees all general accounting activities, including transactional processing and reconciliation process Lead and participate in the monthly accounting close ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with corporate and statutory policies. Provide statutory reporting and tax compliance. Prepare monthly reporting package, including comparative reports of GAAP operating results and financial position and variance explanations for both the legal entity and the individual business units. Responsible for the execution of SOX internal controls; controls testing, active participation in the periodic review of key controls; ensuring their operational effectiveness; maintenance of Test Script documentation; quarterly certification according to Compliance policies and procedures; and participation and contribution during the review and maintenance of the Risk Control Matrix. More specifically, internal controls related to the position. Qualifications Who Are We Looking For? Education Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting Experience Solid 8 years of experience in international environment Solid experience in USGAAP and IFRS Strong accounting and fiscal skills. Statutory reporting (NL & BE GAAP) would be an asset Corporate income taxes (desirable) Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work closely together with SSC (Shared Services Center) in Poland/India Strong functional communication skills Flexibility and proactivity Computer literacy: Good excel knowledge (e.g. pivots) is a must.
