Our educational, vocational and life skills programs are only a few of the programs available. We also offer parent training, recreational activities and crisis intervention. Mission: An Applied Behavior Analysis approach to lifelong quality educational, habilitative, vocational and recreational programs for individuals with autism and other intellectual disabilities. Vision: To foster independence, integration, individualization, and productivity while enhancing the quality of the lives for the people we serve. Our goal is to enable each and every individual to reach his/her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment by selecting and promoting educational practices that are grounded in research and science, in particular applied behavior analysis; and, to assist each individual with identifying and realizing his/her own goals. Responsibilities: + Provides overall administrative supervision of all education personnel in the School Age Program. + Ensures implementation of personnel procedures as they relate to hiring, dismissal and disciplinary actions. + Collaborates with Human Resource to fill vacancies and for other staffing matters. + Maintains budget analysis and monitoring of expenses to budget on a monthly basis. Ensures program is managed efficiently and cost effectively and plans the efficient use of materials and human resources. + Maintains correspondence and positive relationships with the State Education Department, Regional Associate and School Districts for admissions/discharges and current students in School Age Program. + Maintains correspondence with parents/guardians. + Maintains running inventory, monitors and requisitions supplies. Submits required information to appropriate personnel on an as needed basis. + Monitors proper staffing at all times. Participates in hiring and assures appropriate qualified staff on duty at all specified times. Serves as special education teacher in classrooms for absent teachers or during vacancies. + Assures compliance with Article 19-A NYS Bus Unit, maintaining and reporting roster of bus driver(s), schedules annual and bi-annual bus driver trainings and ensures bus driver maintains current physical on record. + Assures compliance of IEP’s, progress reports and other regulatory documentation. + Ensures development and continuous implementation of appropriate NYS curriculum, and ABA programming. + Completes grant applications for submission to the finance department. + Updates department manual, ensures compliance with current regulations, implements policies and procedures. Submits recommendations for changes to Agency policy and procedures and obtains necessary policy and procedure approvals where necessary. + Completes annual report for assigned program and submits to ED for review, approval and presentation to the Board. + Collaborate with Executive Director and/or Human Resources for NYSED reporting/documentation for the school age programs as follows: + BEDS + State and NYSAA testing + SEDCAR + PD-6 + Annual Non-public school survey + Other surveys and reports as assigned + Ensures the completion of reports to student CSE’s on quarterly basis. + Ensures attendance at annual meetings. + Completes census in an ongoing manner, to ensure full census at all times and at appropriate periodic intervals and to submit to ED and CFO. + Conducts pre-placement screening and placements in conjunction with Admissions Coordinator. + Participates in planning and placement needs for graduating students, including collaborating with Day Habilitation Program Coordinator for tours of/placement in HFI adult programs. (NOT A COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION) Job Type: Full-time Required education: + New York State Certification in School Administration and Supervision and/or School Building Leader + New York State Certification in Special Education. + Master’s degree or above in field of Special Education or related field. + BCBA or LBA Certified preferred.
