Responsible for the maintenance, design and construction of all educational exhibits associated with the Wetlands Center. Duties + Responsible for the maintenance, design and construction of all educational exhibits and displays associated with the Wetlands Center, including taxidermy exhibits, live plant and animal exhibits, and educational interpretative materials. + Performs general cleaning/maintenance of the Wetlands Center Exhibit Hall. + Assists the Education Coordinator to develop requirements for exhibits, displays and interpretation for outreach and the Wetlands Center. + Works with Animal Care Technician to fulfill animal feeding requirements. + Assists with Wetlands Center administration activities including coordinating vehicle maintenance and maintaining vehicle records. + Performs all other job related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required: + High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days). + Two years of experience in a related field. Preferred: + One year of exotic animal care experience (reptiles and fish). + Bilingual in English/Spanish. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of biology or environmental science fundamentals, wildlife natural history and habitats, basic carpentry, and computers.
