WGL - Associate Energy Planning Analyst
**Job Description** **WGL - Associate Energy Planning Analyst** **Position Summary** Associate Energy Planning Analyst will support long, mid and short term planning, which includes the design day creation, storage inventory planning, monthly and daily demand forecasting. This work includes planning for daily purchasing activity, in compliance with delivery contracts, and partake in facilitating the choice retail, interruptible, and asset optimization programs. This position is also responsible for rotating through and learning the different Energy Acquisition functions and will get engaged with analytical projects – which will include the development of data models to support the planning processes and decision making. The successful candidate will also work on an on-call schedule as needed. **You Will:** + Support the daily, monthly and annual analysis, planning and forecasting of CSP system demands and deliveries + Communicates with customers, suppliers, and other Washington Gas (WG) business units to ensure compliance of delivery service tariffs. + Administers the company’s Gas Management System (GMS) and Bulletin Board Schedule. including the processing and verification of delivery service nominations. + Successful candidate will be on call when assigned. + Collaborate with other units within the Energy Acquisition department as well as the System Planning, Gas Control, Customer Measurement and other departments to ensure effective utility operations, planning and sourcing strategies, pipeline scheduling, portfolio planning, and third-party supply programs + Supports as business unit representation of regulatory processes and filings related to development and refinement of the Choice Program. + Support the development, recommendations, and implementation of approved changes for internal reporting requirements. + Maintain a system of complete, auditable records of business unit SOX document. + Recommend executable process improvements and conduct additional analysis as assigned. **You Must Have:** + Bachelor's Degree business administration, economics, finance, engineering or closely related field required + Minimum of 0-2 years work experience in the energy, financial, engineering or closely related industries required + Without a bachelor’s degree: A high school diploma or G.E.D., an additional 4 years of the required experience may be substituted; + With an associate degree, with a minimum of 2 years of required experience may be substitute. + Excellent analytical and statistical analysis skills with the ability to evaluate data using statistical analysis tools, compile statistics, and prepare reports, graphs, tables, and charts. + Excellent organizational, analytical and judgment skills with the ability to accurately and confidentially process and maintain data. + Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks with changing requirements while meeting commitments. We offer a competitive salary range of $64,000 to $88,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
