**Job Description** **Job Title: Energy Efficiency Business Development Manager** **Company: WGL Energy** **Job Description:** WGL Energy is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. The Energy Efficiency Business Development Manager who is passionate about identifying customer needs related to energy efficiency such as programs that support both residential and commercial customers, including HVAC improvements, lighting upgrades, demand-side management initiatives, energy-saving home improvements, energy audits, etc. and possesses the creativity to turn those needs into actionable ideas, and is analytical, organized, detail-oriented, curious, and proactive. This person will lead efforts to turn ideas into reality, providing analytical insights to justify business cases, and driving those ideas through to implementation. This role will focus on WGL Energy's energy efficiency initiatives, new business development, new product offerings, and unregulated business opportunities to support the company's overall strategic priorities. This position reports to the Vice President of Growth. **Key Responsibilities:** + Identify customer needs and pain points related to energy efficiency. + Develop and implement strategies to enhance energy efficiency offerings. + Monitor market trends and technologies in energy efficiency. + Collaborate with the WGL Energy team to develop and refine energy efficiency strategies. + Identify and develop partnerships focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. + Lead the development of financial models for energy efficiency projects. + Create business case presentations for new energy efficiency initiatives. + Monitor the performance of existing energy efficiency products and recommend updates as needed. + Conduct research and generate insights on energy efficiency opportunities. + Drive new business development by identifying and pursuing new market opportunities. + Develop and launch new energy efficiency products and services. + Explore and capitalize on unregulated business opportunities in the energy sector. + Provide additional support on requested tasks, prioritize tasks, and communicate across the team. + Build and lead a team based on the opportunity sets. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, engineering, economics, or business. + 3 to 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or a similar role. + Experience with energy efficiency products and services. + Proven leadership and team management skills. + Self-starter with a results-driven attitude. + Ability to work independently as a sole contributor, and as part of a team. + Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and make informed decisions. + Strong business acumen and market awareness. + Excellent project management skills. + Creative mindset and passion for innovation. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. **Location:** Preferred job location is Vienna, VA or Baltimore, MD. **For Canadian hires** : AltaGas hires personnel on the basis of job-related qualifications.
