WHE TRAINING AND LICENSING SERVICES SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a WHE TRAINING AND LICENSING SERVICES SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTORATE of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will monitor, review, and assist in the development of personnel qualification systems and will collect, input, and analyze equipment operator training and qualification plans. You will inform employees and customers about available training opportunities and assist with creating Individual Developments Plans (IDP) in a training management system. You will compile spreadsheets and reports for NAVFAC command data calls and other meetings as assigned and compile reports of requested classes and assist with determining which classes can be brought in-house to reduce costs. You will assemble data for use in department budget development. You will provide administrative and field support assistance to the training and licensing Team Lead, Instructors, and Licensing Examiners by performing documentation and research reviews of course materials and development of course curriculum. You will liaison with the Team lead and Fleet and Facilities Managers to coordinate and resolve inter-departmental Facilities trouble calls and assigned vehicle maintenance requirements as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Having knowledge of a variety of Federal and Navy standards, policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines, and established practices associated with professional, technical and/or recurring training and licensing and equipment operations compliance requirements for transportation equipment operated within the Public Works Transportation Department including Department of Transportation (DOT) for commercial drivers, material handling equipment (MHE), weight handling equipment (WHE), and civil engineering support equipment (NTV&E); 2) Having the knowledge to identify, consolidate, check, verify, analyze, and organize a wide variety of information pertaining to Transportation operations, inventory, and utilization of various Transportation program assets; 3) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to issue necessary reports or correspondence, and to record, track, monitor, and report training and licensing and other programmatic data to include financial data; 4) Possesses the skills and ability in presenting findings, conclusions and recommendations both orally and in writing; and 5) Being knowledgeable in the safe and secure handling of personally identifiable information (PII) and the management of personnel training files.
