**Wheel Loader Operator**
**Job Description**
The Wheel Loader Operator position will work on a variety of projects in the Omaha area, including projects for the City of Omaha, apartment complexes, neighborhood developments, and retail sites. The operator will work on a team of 5-6 people and report to the foreman on the job site, who will be the lead operator. Most of the work involves underground water utilities (sewer and fresh water) and water control plans for sites, including silt ponds and drainage trenches.
**Responsibilities**
+ Safely operate wheeled loaders, skid steers, and other general construction equipment.
+ Fuel, grease, and maintain equipment daily.
+ Understand and follow grade instructions.
+ Anticipate project needs and place materials appropriately to keep the crew moving without delay.
+ Handle various other duties on a construction site, including digging trenches, setting pipe, and moving dirt.
+ Work long hours in adverse weather conditions.
+ Have reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of experience operating Loader/Wheel Loader.
+ 3+ years of experience operating skid loader.
+ Experience in cutting, shaping, and finishing grade.
+ Ability to unload truckloads of pipe and set structures with a loader.
+ Capable of lifting +/- 50 lbs from ground level to truck level.
+ Understand and follow OSHA safety regulations.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Doosan 300 series, CAT Controls, Komatsu or CAT 900 series.
+ Experience with construction laborer tasks, utility construction, underground piping, concrete, excavator, loader, pipe handling, materials moving, staging, and trenching.

**Work Environment**
The construction environment involves working outside with dirt in adverse weather conditions (hot in the summer, cold in the winter). General hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturdays 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, depending on the weather and project workload. Crews consist of 5-6 people, including a foreman, operator, pipe layer, and two construction laborers. The dress code requires jeans, t-shirts/sweatshirts, and steel-toed boots.
