The Wholesale and Retail Credit Lead - Stress Testing owns the engagement with specific workstreams and business stakeholders in the end-to-end stress testing process. Develops and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders. Own review and challenge of design, processes, and results. Ensures adherence to standards and requirements. Gathers keep inputs and feedback to formulate key drivers and “story tell” stress test results for use with executive management, committees, and board. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence effectively. A direct report to the Head of Stress Testing End-to-End Coverage.
Responsibilities:
Oversight of and engagement in the workstream and business specific stress testing process for wholesale and retail credit, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure the firm’s requirements and standards are metPlays a part in necessary forums, councils, and senior governance groups to establish and govern policies for relevant Stress Testing processesEnsures that standards and requirements are met within the forecasting process. Analyses and assesses key drivers of results to formulate “story” for executive management.Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into relevant stress testing processes and applicationsCoordination and interaction with key stakeholders throughout the firm for purposes of data gathering, narrative input, review and challenge, and Plan approvalHas authority must have ability to review and challenge relevant finance, risk, and business forecasting processes, methodologies, and resultsRecommends focal areas, policies, and plans for covered areas with senior stakeholdersPartners with the relevant revenue or functional areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and / or control.Frequently involved in a wide range of diverse activities that require strategic vision and analysis. Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in driving results with a strong understanding of the financial services industryExceptional communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills. Must be able to quickly create concise, informative narratives for internal and external stakeholders, based on forecast and historical data, that convey a well-developed “story” and advocate for a well-reasoned point of viewStrong ability to influence a wide range of audiencesPrevious experience in a Capital Management or Capital Planning-related function, external consulting, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) preferredWholesale credit and Retail credit knowledge and experience requiredStrong analytical knowledge to engage with modelers and credit risk subject matter experts requiredIn-depth knowledge of US capital and stress testing related regulationStrong attention to detail with proven ability to distill complex ideas into simple storiesIn depth knowledge of relevant banking products / systemsBroad and comprehensive knowledge of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cyclesThe job will involve internal negotiations with various stakeholder groups which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole.
