Our group is looking for a highly motivated Performance Engineer to optimize software design for Apple’s latest products, including the next generation of Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. **Description** As a key member of Connectivity Firmware Performance team you will work on software design, testing and optimization from early prototypes until productization! The work involves devising performance evaluation methodologies on SW/HW prototypes, analyzing logs, and making recommendations for implementing in software based on trade-off analysis at a system & product level. **Minimum Qualifications** + Strong understanding in one of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, or related protocols + Background or research experience in RF, Digital, and Wireless communications + Experience working with wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers to debug and root cause issues + Experience with Python for testing, data analysis, and visualization + Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite + BS Electrical engineering, Computer engineering, Software engineering, or Computer Science **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with power, performance trade-off analysis + Experience with CPU profiling and optimizations + Programming in C or C++ is a plus + MS or PhD is a plus + Approach problems flexibly, adjusting strategies as needed for practical solutions. + Focus on priorities and drive efforts toward achieving results. + Stay curious, continually seeking to learn and improve processes. **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
