WIC Paraprofessional - Atoka - Full Time

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The WIC Paraprofessional provides services and benefits to the WIC participants following the guidelines as stated in the Federal Guidelines and Choctaw WIC Program. You will report to the coordinator.

PG08 - Start Rate $23.35 | Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm |

Primary Tasks:

Collect applications of certification of eligibility; collect and document anthropometrics of participants and make referrals to the nutritionist. Document required nutritional and personal information in participant file; provide nutrition lessons related to the participant’s nutritional risk codes; and make daily missed appointment contacts. Conduct nutritional assessments at certification, re-certification and mid-certification for participants; updating participant files as is required by federal regulations; nutritional counseling at certification. Document medical updates as required by the federal regulations; updating files and growth grids.  Refer participants for other services that are available to them. Provide end of month reports to the nutritionist; time studies, mileage on cars, and travel on the 30th of each calendar month via in person or my e-mail. Serve as the outreach person for WIC in your area; as well as monitoring vendors upon request; contacting participants with missed appointments. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

MINIMUM   

Associate degree or;  Equivalent combination of education and experience Certified Breastfeeding Educator certificate within one year of employment Two [2] years of relevant experience
