ABOUT YOU As a Wildlife Maintenance Technician (Bargaining Unit, Local 25), you are a vigilant and adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments, maintaining safety and balance between wildlife management and airport operations. With sharp observation and quick decision-making, you address challenges calmly and effectively, ensuring compliance and safety at all times. Your dedication to precision, from maintaining equipment to accurate record-keeping, supports smooth operations, while your physical resilience and technical skill enable you to handle diverse tasks in varying conditions. You bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, seamlessly integrating environmental stewardship with operational excellence. What you will do: + Patrol the airport’s operations area throughout shifts, monitoring and managing wildlife activity to ensure safety. + Control wildlife hazards using tools like pyrotechnics, herbicides, and when necessary, firearms, while maintaining compliance with safety protocols. + Maintain detailed logs of wildlife activity and actions taken, ensuring data accuracy in the wildlife management database. + Manage wildlife habitats by maintaining vegetation, applying pesticides, and addressing structural issues that could attract or shelter animals. WHAT YOU OFFER + Demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical, and manual skills, with the ability to operate machinery and communicate effectively in standard English. + Apply knowledge of FAA-compliant wildlife dispersal methods outlined in the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan. + Hold a CDL Class B and Mass.
