Your Role: We are seeking a highly motivated laboratory supervisor to lead our Williamston Regional Laboratory and a satellite asphalt laboratory nearby in Merry Hill, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction materials testing and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: + Oversee, authorize, and manage the daily activities of technicians in the regional and satellite laboratories. + Ensure accurate and timely testing of construction materials while adhering to strict safety protocols. + Understand customer requirements and optimize lab procedures, schedules, and staffing to exceed expectations. + Develop and implement laboratory goals that align with departmental objectives and policies. + Ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations, including the prudent use of financial resources and maintenance of AASHTO accreditations. + Promote a safe, satisfying, and enriching work environment by encouraging employee development and continuous improvement. + Serve as a technical resource for colleagues within and outside the department, providing guidance on technical problems and procedures. Additional Expectations: This position requires a highly motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as part of a team. The successful candidate will have strong work ethic standards with a technical background in engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical personnel. Experience managing personnel is desired. Must have the ability lift samples and equipment weighing up to 70lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to wear safety glasses and other personal protective equipment.
