Winchester - Accounts Payable Assistant

Title: Accounts Payable
Location: East Alton, IL, with the ability to transition to Clayton, MO around July 2025

Salary: $52,500 - $56,220
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available up to 2 days remote per week

Accounts Payable Assistant Essential Job Functions*: Daily scanning, validating, and processing of vendor invoices. Download invoice files for payment processing. Process bank deposits through CashPro. Ensure vendor invoices are supported by appropriate Grants of Authority along with proper and adequate documentation and account information. Verify payment terms and cash discounts are applied to maximize profit and cash flow. Research price, quantity, and other payment discrepancies. Assist internal and external customers/vendors regarding payment inquiries.  Maintain controls and procedures in support of SOX and audit requests. Run checks and ACH payment processes. Open and distribute mail amongst Accounts Payable processors.  Prepare records retention documentation and boxes for storage.  Accounts Payable Assistant Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.   Minimum two years of accounting experience in accounts payable/receivable or general accounting;  Accounts payable experience is preferred.    Experience processing invoices for government contracts is a plus. Excellent typing, Word and Excel experience. Deltek/CostPoint, SAP or other integrated accounts payable systems knowledge preferred. Superior analytical, organizational, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, mathematical aptitude, time management, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with ability to work well with minimum supervision.

Location-Specific Requirements: 

This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
