Title: Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager)
Location: East Alton, IL
Salary: $142,500 - $165,000
Focus: Develop, implement, and improve all aspects of the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and initiatives for the Winchester East Alton facility by partnering with the manufacturing team and leading the site Environmental, Health, and Safety group.
EHS Manager Essential Functions: Serve as a focal point and direct all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), including process safety activities within the Winchester East Alton facility. Direct EHS resources to support developing and implementing EHS-related training, programs, procedures, practices, and operations. Direct and manage environmental, industrial hygiene, safety, and process safety activities to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and Winchester standards. Ensure all applicable laws and regulatory changes are tracked, and actions are taken to ensure compliance. Develop and implement health and safety programs to minimize accidents and loss. Work with manufacturing and medical to reduce Workers’ Compensation claims and costs. Oversee EHS-related incidents, business interruptions, product safety incident investigations, and other significant impact evaluations. Assume a lead role in EHS regulatory agency interactions. Create and execute EHS strategies that enhance EHS and Process Safety cultures and drive employee engagement. Support any response actions required in an EHS related emergency or event. EHS Manager Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree* required; engineering, technical, or management discipline preferred. Minimum five years of related Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment; Ten years’ experience preferred. Proven success with safety performance improvements, experience with Behavior Based Safety Programs, and strong Process Safety Management experience. SAP experience preferred. Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work well with minimum supervision. Familiarity with flammable and explosive materials preferred.Location-Specific Requirements:
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
