Title: Equipment Mechanical Engineer 
Location: East Alton, IL

Salary: $87,755+, depending on relevant related experience
Focus: The Equipment Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical systems for new and existing industrial automation equipment manufacturing small caliber ammunition and components.

Equipment Mechanical Engineer Essential Job Functions: Evaluate and design alternatives to existing machinery that will improve efficiency, reliability, product quality, safety, and reduce cost.  Prepare Capital Requests for equipment-related projects. Project responsibility will begin at concept and continue through implementation, with an ongoing support role after equipment enters operation. Work closely with vendors throughout the quotation, design, and build process to ensure new equipment conforms to specifications. Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Recommend and implement equipment and process improvements. Direct and coordinate internal and external personnel on installing new equipment and equipment improvements.  Equipment Mechanical Engineer Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree* in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA required.  Candidates working towards a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an anticipated graduation date of May 2025 will be considered.  Minimum six months of related engineer co-op, internship, or full-time experience is required.  Three years of recent design-related engineering experience is preferred. Inventor and AutoCAD experience is preferred.  Experience with mechanical troubleshooting of automation equipment preferred. Experience with power presses, packing equipment, and parts feeding systems preferred. Must possess excellent analytical, creative, communication (verbal and written), organizational, presentation, problem-solving, mathematical aptitude, project management, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts. Experience in ammunition manufacturing or shooting sports preferred.

Location-Specific Requirements: 

This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
