Winchester General Accountant

Title: General Accountant
Location: East Alton, IL, until around June 2025 then the position will be located in Clayton, MO 

Additional location: Clayton, MO
Salary: $86,000+
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available up to 2 days remote per week

General Accountant Essential Job Functions: Research generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure compliance with up-to-date guidelines.  Report foreign exchange rates. Process and report foreign entities financial packages. Work closely with marketing managers to manage expenses, estimates and budgets. Process journal entries, including but not limited to, sales & intercompany eliminations, transfer sales, accruals, shared services, reclasses. Open and close accounting periods. Analyze, code and process Concur monthly charges. Calculate and charge foreign entities for tooling.  Calculate and process inventory/profit adjustments. Manage product recalls. Manage, calculate and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.  Prepare and report consolidated Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and ROC. Close the ledger and validate reporting with corporate. Complete government reporting. Maintain SOX documentation for fixed assets and support internal and external audit. Fulfill various monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements. Various other closing accounting and analysis duties. General Accountant Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree*; Accounting or Finance preferred.   Minimum three years of related experience.    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP preferred. Demonstrated ability to set priorities, manage high-volume workload, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts. Must possess excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), leadership, organizational, presentation, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Location-Specific Requirements: 

This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
